BTF Polymers was established as a strategic decision to bring component production in-house, enabling us to offer customers a full end-to-end service, from tooling and assembly to final delivery. By managing the entire process, we ensure quality control at every stage, eliminating the need to outsource and streamlining production for our clients.
Today, we bring nearly two decades of experience in injection moulding and assembly, while our sister company, BU Industrial Components, boasts over 40 years of expertise in engineering and decorative finishes.
Our multi-site operation includes a manufacturing facility in Shrewsbury, equipped with presses ranging from 25 to 360 tonnes.

Derek Free is our Production Director with 50 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. Throughout his career, he has built expertise in tool setting, troubleshooting and working with both thermoplastic and thermoset materials. Derek’s vast industry knowledge and hands-on approach have been key to his success. While he always dreamed of running his own business, his current role allows him to apply his passion for production and leadership. Outside of work, Derek enjoys playing golf and is an avid football fan.
Dawn Rigby is the Purchasing & Sales Director, bringing over 40 years of industry experience. She manages customers worldwide, using her expertise to ensure the highest standards for both the business and its clients, with a strong focus on sourcing and manufacturing in England. Dawn values adaptability and dedication, having honed her skills through hands-on experience. Outside of work, she enjoys performing in local pantomimes for charity, combining her love for community involvement with a sense of fun.
Martyn Williams is Technical Director and has over 30 years of experience in the cooking appliance industry, including 10 years designing, testing and building appliances and 22 years producing components. With a degree in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering Martyn's expertise spans plastic mouldings, die castings, extrusions, electro-plating of plastic and metal components and complex assemblies. Known for his tenacious problem-solving abilities, he is committed to driving innovation and quality in the business.
Wayne Maybury is a Manager with 15 years experience in the plastic industry. He specialises in tool setting and troubleshooting, with additional expertise in procuring materials and maintaining machinery. Wayne is passionate about continuous learning and applying his skills to support the ongoing success of BTF. His proactive approach and hands-on knowledge make him a valuable asset to the team. Outside of work, Wayne stays active by playing football and golf and he enjoys surfing whenever he gets the chance.
